Elephant: The Gateway Epic

The Elephant (1 in 300) is often your first Epic hatch. While its 800 speed is modest, the 60 $/s income doubles your ranch earnings compared to Capybara (40 $/s).

Strategy: Keep one for Index, use as ranch filler until you get Deer or Spider. Don’t mutate.

Deer: The Speed Bridge

The Deer (1 in 9K) bridges the gap between entry Epic and mid Epic. Its 1,500 speed is nearly double Elephant, making it a viable temporary mount.

Verdict: Transitional pet. Keep one, don’t invest.

Spider: The Jump King of Epic Tier

The Spider is the most mechanically interesting Epic pet. While its 2,000 speed is outclassed by Crocodile (2,800), its 129 jump is the highest in the entire Epic tier — and higher than most Legendary and Mythic pets.

Strategy: If you hatch a Crocodile early, it can serve as your primary mount through the Legendary tier grind. One or two speed mutations can push it toward Horse territory (5,340).

T-Rex: The Anomaly

The T-Rex is classified as Epic but operates on a completely different scale. With 266,000 speed and 1 in 10T odds, it’s closer to Phoenix than any Epic pet.

Note: The T-Rex’s classification as Epic (despite outperforming most Legendary and Mythic pets) makes it the best odds-to-power ratio in the game. If you somehow hatch one before Rebirth 1, you’ve skipped the entire early game.
